Producing a great print ad is more than just great key art. The key to a great looking ad also includes the attention to detail to the specs from the publication. This includes using proper color spaces, monitoring ink densities (particularly important when producing ads for newspaper), bleeds, die-lines, etc. You can rely on Creative Vision’s experience to know these important details – communicate with the publication’s production departments and deliver final ads on time and in spec.
Understanding Specs & Die-Lines is Key!
On the left is an example of a layout for a Los Angeles Times Envelope. As you can see there are a lot of details beyond just the general look that go into creating a visually outstanding printed piece. This is where our production designers take over. Reviewing and understanding the specs are a must – where and how the folds interact with each other determines the placement and orientation of the artwork. In this case the bleed from one panel comes from its partner panel which creates a seamless image on the final after folding and glueing.
